What Is The Maximum Power Point Tracking In Solar Water Pump Inverter?

Maximum power point tracking MPPT refers to that the inverter adjusts the output power of the photovoltaic array according to the characteristics of different ambient temperature and light intensity, so that the photovoltaic array always outputs the maximum power.

What does MPPT do?

Due to the influence of external factors such as light intensity and environment, the output power of solar cells is changed, and the electricity emitted by light intensity is more. The inverter with MPPT maximum power tracking is to make full use of solar cells to make them run at the maximum power point. That is to say, under the condition of constant solar radiation, the output power after MPPT will be higher than that before MPPT, which is the role of MPPT.

For example, assume that MPPT has not started tracking, when the output voltage of the component is 500V. Then, after MPPT starts tracking, it starts to adjust the resistance on the circuit through the internal circuit structure to change the output voltage of the component and change the output current until the output power is maximum (let’s say it is 550V maximum), and then it keeps tracking. In this way, that is to say, under the condition of constant solar radiation, the output power of the component at 550V output voltage will be higher than that at 500V, which is the role of MPPT.
Generally speaking, the influence of irradiance and temperature changes on the output power is most directly reflected in MPPT, that is to say, irradiance and temperature are important factors affecting MPPT.

With the decrease of irradiance, the output power of photovoltaic modules will be reduced. With the increase of temperature, the output power of photovoltaic modules will decrease.

Inverter maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is to find the maximum power point in the figure above. As can be seen from the figure above, the maximum power point decreases almost proportionately as irradiance decreases.

With the development of electronic technology, the current MPPT control of solar arrays is generally completed by DC/DC conversion circuit. The schematic diagram is shown below.

The photovoltaic cell array and the load are connected through the DC/DC circuit. The maximum power tracking device constantly detects the current and voltage changes of the photovoltaic array, and adjusts the PWM driving signal duty ratio of the DC/DC converter according to the changes.

The solar water pump inverter designed and developed by Xi ‘an Noker Electric uses MPPT technology, effectively uses the solar panel, advanced control algorithm, stable and reliable operation, is a very recommended product.
